Rudy: My Story by Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger

The story of Rudy Ruettiger is a story for anyone who has had a dream. It is the classic personal story of an underdog who dreamed big, pursued, and succeeded. Rudy is written in four parts and begins his story as a young child growing up in a very large family and finishes with where he is now.        Although I have never seen the iconic movie, I had a general knowledge of Rudy’s story. I enjoyed reading his story in his own words, describing his hopes, challenges, fears, and joy. He didn’t allow the challenges he faced to get him down or keep him from what he really wanted. Rudy recognizes the people who were instrumental in his life. He acknowledges God’s blessings in his life. I have to admit that after reading the book it has made me very anxious to watch the movie that so many people love and enjoy. It is a quick and easy read. I would recommend this book to anyone, but I believe that this would be an especially great book for teens to read. What an inspiration.
